Eyes on Projects
Psst - we don’t cover every project in every volume of this newsletter if there is no major new information. Check out last time’s newsletter for more updates about projects.
A Better Brady
Friends of the newsletter are supporting Option 4 (a full transit way) from the BID’s Pedestrian-First Study. A Better Brady (learn more) tabled at Brady Street Fest. They were interviewed by the news and received many signatures in support of Option 4. Want to get involved? See the “How Can I Help?” section of the website, and email abetterbradymke@gmail.com.
Four-way Stop Conversions
This may not be a “project”, but we have noticed a handful of intersections recently being converted from 2-way to 4-way stops. Where appropriate, these can help make it easier for all kinds of traffic to cross busier or longer intersections. If you see a conversion near you, let us know!
Curious about a project? Check out Engage MKE
There are many road projects happening in Milwaukee. To learn more about them, check out Engage MKE. This resource is a good place to start for understanding the major projects occurring in Milwaukee. Projects include:
- Lisbon Avenue
- Oklahoma Avenue Multimodal Improvements
- National Avenue
- Edgewood Avenue
- Cesar Chavez Safe Routes to Transit
- Burleigh Safe Routes to Transit
Surveys
- Milwaukee County Multimodal Survey
- Powerline Trail Phase 2 - This is a one question survey on whether you generally support expanding the trail going east (Recommended: Yes)
- Milwaukee County Active Streets - check out the support for County parkway closures. Safe streets and places for people really are popular.
- WisDOT Active Transportation Plan 2050
- Downtown Business Improvement District Strategic Plan Survey - let them know that you support removal of 794, as well as other great parts of the plan (We encourage you to mention biking safety and access, too!).
- Kinnickinnic River Trail Connections (KKRT) Public Survey #2
